Augustan Andrew Crumrine has opened a new restaurant at 1855 Central Ave., the longtime location of Le Café Du Teau.
Called Crums on Central, it’s a European-style restaurant that features what Andrew describes as “comfort food.” Buttermilk mashed potatoes. Creamy Southern-style shrimp and grits. Crab cakes and Georgia slaw.
Andrew says it’s his goal to provide upscale food at reasonable prices. The most expensive entrees - Duck ala Crum and Crumrine Market steak - are less than $20, and there are loads of yummies in the $4 to $6 range. The restaurant has a full bar (also comforting).
Andrew is a former general manager of Wild Wing Cafe and chef at TakoSushi. He is a graduate of New England Culinary Institute in Burlington, Vt., and Aquinas High School (Class of ‘91). He has also worked at the Four Seasons Hotel in Atlanta.
Crums is open Wednesday through Sunday beginning at 4:30 p.m. For information, call (706) 729-6969.
